How Cold Laser Therapy Works
Cold lasers are non-invasive, handheld devices that are placed directly over an injured area for 30 seconds to several minutes. The non-thermal photons of light that are emitted then pass through the layers of the skin.
The light energy is absorbed by the cells and creates an increase in the intracellular metabolism. This eventually results in normalizing damaged or injured tissue, a reduction in pain, inflammation, edema and an overall reduction in healing time.
