World Breastfeeding week!
Updated: Nov 1, 2023
Its World breastfeeding week! We work a lot with mothers who's goal is to breastfeed and they may be experiencing some difficulty in their journey. Did you know chiropractic can help?
As part of world breastfeeding week, we wanted to provide you with some information on why breastfeeding is important! Everyones journey is different and some mothers may have not been able to breastfeed or their journey was cut short. But please remember you're all amazing!
Breastfeeding allows for the baby to have a stronger immune system. Babies do not have a fully developed immune system by the time of birth, therefore they rely on mom’s immune system for a long period of time.
Babies salvia releases signals to the mother body to release cytokines that the baby immune system needs. If you pump, try putting some of your baby's saliva on your nipple prior to eliciting this response.Â
Breastfeeding helps to decrease baby’s chances of constipation, diarrhea, gastroenteritis, and gastroesophageal reflux.
Breastfeeding lowers the chances of respiratory illnesses, ear infections, and allergies
Breastfeeding for mothers decreases the risks of postpartum depression
Breastfeeding for both mom and baby promotes physical and emotional bonding that helps to reduce social and behavioral problems in both children and adults
We understand that breastfeeding can be one of if not the most challenging times in a mom and baby’s life. If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulty please contact us at ANH Wellness and see if chiropractic care might be beneficial for you and your little one.
